I hadn’t ridden a horse in over 30 years. Now retired and living in such a beautiful area, I wanted to be able to explore the area on horseback. I knew that I would need a lot of training and would have a lot of work ahead of me to enable me to do that. I was very fortunate to have a friend put me in touch with Anita. She has taken me all the way from not even being able to put the saddle on, to a walk, jog, lope, ground work, obstacle courses, gymkhanas and de-sensitizing work. She is a magnificent horse trainer and instructor, and I highly respect her soft-handed approach to horsemanship. One of her horses that I have ridden many times is a rescued Wildie that she has trained so well. This is a sweet, gentle horse that reacts immediately when I do my job right and she lets me know “Hey, you did it right that time!” Anita has been instrumental in building up my confidence and easing my fears by teaching me the solid fundamentals needed to become a good, safe rider. One of her comments to me that I think about often is “Do it right, then we go faster”.

After being bucked off our young horse we sent her to Dreamadaira for a month of training. the goal was to feel safe on her again and to work through whatever was causing her to buck. We were very pleased with the responsiveness and softness that Dreamadaira achieved in our mare. We are now able to ride this mare with no worry about her offering to buck, so much so that our 11-year-old is able to lope her without worry. Our mare learned so many new skills like the side pass, ground tying, turn on the haunches and forehand, picking up correct leads, overall fitness, and lowering her head for our daughter to bridle her. There is likely more that I am forgetting. Dreamadaira was great in providing opportunities for lessons and for us to observe the work done with our horse while she was in training. We will be sending more of our horses for training with Dreamadaira, it was a great experience for us and our mare.

My son was very privileged to train with Anita. Over the course of his lessons, it was beautiful to see him grow, his riding skills, techniques and passion. Anita challenged him while making it fun. I would definitely recommend Anita to any rider looking to grow their skills!
